Kaduna State Scholarship Board Date for 2026 Physical Verification 

Board (KADSSLB), has announced schedule for the Physical Verification, Enrollment, and distribution of Awards for the 2026 beneficiaries. This is part of the Special Scholarship Intervention Programme lead by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Dr. Malam Uba Sani, and is aimed at supporting indigene students across various tertiary institutions in the state.

All eligible students are invited to the physical verification and enrollment exercise scheduled to hold on Monday, 2nd February 2026, at 9:00 am prompt.

Attending the physical screening and verification is an important step that will qualify beneficiaries are granted them with scholarships under the state’s educational support programme. The venues for the verification exercise in each participating institution will be the respective Main Lecture Halls.

Participating Institutions

The verification and enrollment exercise will be conducted simultaneously across a number of tertiary institutions in and outside Kaduna State. The institutions affected by the exercise include:

  • Kaduna State University (KASU), Kafanchan Campus.
  • Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.
  • Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria.
  • Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences, Makarfi.
  • Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria
  • Bayero University, Kano (BUK)
  • College of Education (COE), Gidan Waya.
  • College of Nursing and Midwifery, Kafanchan.

The board reiterated that the verification will commence promptly at 9:00 am, and students are expected to arrive early to avoid delays. Staff of KADSSLB and students unions will be present at all the respective venues to provide guidance, assist with inquiries, and organise the smooth conduct of the verification and enrollment process.

Purpose of the Verification Exercise

The 2026 scholarship verification is being conducted for the following objectives:

1. Verification Applicants Credentials: This is to check the eligibility of candidates for the scholarship. Students are expected to present valid and original documents to confirm their status as indigenes of Kaduna State and they are genuine students of the tertiary institutions.

2. Award of Scholarships to Qualified Beneficiaries: Students whose names appear on the existing list of shortlisted applicants will also be verified during this exercise. The list will be pasted at the venue of each institution on the day of the exercise for transparency.

By combining verification and award procedures, KADSSLB seeks to maintain transparency, accountability, and fairness in the distribution of scholarships to eligible Kaduna State students.

Required Documents for Verification

All students attending the exercise are required to present both the originals and photocopies of the following documents:

  • Admission letter from their respective tertiary institution.
  • Academic Credentials
  • Student identity card
  • Indigene Certificate
  • National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Any other relevant academic or personal documents as may be needed.

Students are expected to come along with all necessary documents. Non compliance with this directive may risk disqualification from the scholarship award. It is therefore important for applicants to come with everything that are necessary ensuring that all requested documentation is complete.
