What “No Record Found” Means on the NYSC Portal
Some candidates received a “No Record Found” notification while checking the Senate list. This usually happens for two reasons.
First, your institution may have not uploaded your name to the portal as at the time you are checking. Wait for your school to complete the upload or make an enquiry from your institution.
Second, Some candidates entered wrong details when typing their data when checking their status. Make sure to thoroughly check your details such as matriculation number, institution, and course details.
If the issue continues, contact the Students Affairs Division of your institution for assistance.
Ensure your NIN Details Match your Records
Before the commencement of the orientation camp online registration, confirm that your names matches the details registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
Your NIN record, NYSC Senate list, and academic certificate or statement of result should bear the same name and spelling. Any difference may cause verification problem during the registration.
To avoid issues and delay, ensure that:
- Your name on your NIN matches the NYSC portal record uploaded by your institution.
- Your academic certificate or statement of result bears the same name and spellings.
- All personal information are correctly spelled.
- Correcting these issues will ensure smooth registration.
Difference Between the Graduation List and Senate List
Most of the times, Prospective corps members (PCMs) got confused about the graduation list and the Senate Approved List, but they serve different purposes.
1. Graduation List
The graduation list confirms that your institution has mobilized you internally. It confirms that you are among the graduates prepared for NYSC mobilization.
But you should note that appearing on the graduation list, does not mean you are eligible to register for NYSC.
This list contains:
- Your name
- Course of study
- Registration status
The list is uploaded by the Students Affairs unit of your institution.
2. Senate Approved List
The Senate list is the final confirmation required for NYSC registration. It contains the names of graduates approved by the institution’s Senate or Academic Board and submitted to NYSC.
Only graduates whose names appear on this list will be able to complete the online registration process.
In simple terms, the Senate list confirms that you are fully eligible for the NYSC programme.
Can you Register for NYSC without your Name on the Senate List?
No. Registration cannot be completed without seeing your name on the Senate Approved List.
Before your name can be approved on the list, you must:
- Have successfully complete your academic programme.
- Resolved any outstanding academic issues with your school.
- Complete internal mobilization
- Appear on your institution’s graduation list.
Once the above mentioned issues are completed, your institution will forward your name to NYSC for upload on the Senate list.
