The Abia State Government and the Education Advancement Council is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Abia Tech Rise Cohort 3 Training Programme 2026.

If you are an Abia youth looking to build a career in technology, this is a solid opportunity to get hands-on experience without having to worry about fees for your training.

Overview of Abia Tech Rise Cohort 3

Abia Tech Rise is a residential, 12 to 16 week program that provides hands-on intensive training in various tech fields.

Participants have an opportunity to spend a maximum time working on their studies, interacting, and working on projects.

The training is structured in such a manner that practical experience is emphasized over theory, as you will be working on real projects, using industry tools and learning how to build a portfolio that will enable you to find jobs and freelance work after your training is complete.

Available Courses and Tech Tracks

Depending on your interests and background, the applicants can choose from a wide range of in-demand digital skills.

• Full stack Development
• Enterprise Python
• Creative Arts
• Cybersecurity and DevSec (prior knowledge is needed).
• AI Machine Learning
• UI/UX Design
• CAD and Manufacturing

Each track perfectly identifies the current industry needs and provides participants with relevant skills that employers are looking for.

What you Gain from the Programme

One of the biggest advantages of Abia Tech Rise is the level of support that is provided to participants. Participants are removed from distractions and provided with a conducive environment for learning.

• Laptop Provided: Each participant will be provided with a laptop to use through out the program fully equipped with the required software suite.
• Free Accommodation: The participants live at the campus throughout to ensure structured and concentrated atmosphere.
• Three Meal Daily: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are arranged and you will not need to feed yourself during the training.
• Free Internet Access: High speed internet facility will be available throughout the training to support research, projects and online interactions of the trainees.
• Job Placement Support: Top performers in the program will receive job placements, internships opportunities and career assistance. In previous cohorts the best graduates absorbed directly into the Abia State Civil Service employment.
• Certification and network: Certification that is recognized, plus a growing network of tech talents.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for Abia Tech Rise Cohort 3, the applicant must satisfy the below conditions.

• Be an indigene or a resident of Abia State.
• Have an age between 18 and 35 years.
• Be available for the entire 12-16 week to live on campus.
• Train for no less than 10 hours a day.
• Possess the National Identification Number (NIN).
• Possess a valid Abia State Social Investment Number (ABSSIN).
• Have a basic computer knowledge in typing, file handling and internet browsing.

Civil servants can also apply provided they produce official study leave approval from their ministry, department or agency for the full programme duration.

Who is not Eligible?

Some applicants may not fit in because the programme is very intensive. You are not eligible with:

• You have a job that conflicts with the training schedule for every day
• You are a full-time student who cannot interrupt academic activities.
• You cannot stay at the campus for the entire period.
• You do not have the prerequisite background for the specialty tracks such as Cybersecurity.
• You have responsibilities that prevent full participation

Required Documents and Preparation

NIN: Candidates NIN has to be linked with their phone numbers before applying.

ABSSIN Government ID: Abia State Social Investment Number is required to check the applicants indigeneship or residency status.

Basic computer knowledge: Applicants must possess a basic computer operation knowledge such as basic file management, internet browsing and typing. The programme is advanced not introductory.

LGA of Origin: You must prove your Local Government Area indigeneship as the slots will be allocated to all the 17 LGAs

Cybersecurity Prerequisite: Applicants for the Cybersecurity & DevSec track must provide evidence of previous training or experience in computer hardware or networking.

Social Media Accounts: Applicants must create and be active in the following social media platforms; LinkedIn, Hashnode, X (Twitter ) and Medium.

Fullstack Development applicants also need GitHub; UI/UX Design applicants need Behance and Dribbble.

A Guarantor: For laptop collection, you must provide one guarantor who can confirm your character and agree that the laptop will not be sold or transferred for at least 12 months after the programme. Guarantor must have proof of residence and a government ID.

Programme Timetable 

Application Opening Date: 24th March, 2026.

Application Closing Date: 2nd April, 2026

CBT Screening Test: 10th April, 2026

Verification of Candidates : 11th to 14th April, 2026.

Cohort 3 Flag-Off: 5th May, 2026.
